  • Biker

last night was the first night on the road (bike friends!). oh wow, I was soo frickin scared. not to mention i was riding on the streets at 11:30pm in San Jose and on a fixed. just to let ya'll know, i've ridden a fixed, but not as fast or long as last night! Biked with the guys: phil, michael, and tim; dude these guys are vicious! lol. but overall, great ride!

we biked from SJSU to Santa Clara University (with a pitstop at safeway) and to Santana Row, then back to SJSU. long ride. it was approximately a 13 mile ride (not to mention a hill involved) and it took us 2 hours. i felt so slow when biking with them.

hahah lets hit some interesting things I experienced when biking:

-So we all know what drafting is right? well its when the bikes get in one straight line, one right behind another so its easier to pedal and you use less energy. that was some pretty scary stuff! i've never been so close to another bike!! haha yes, im someone that needed my own personal space. hahaha! but you really do feel it when you're behind someone and that your pedaling is easier!

-so we were leaving campus and heading towards the streets when the guys were telling me to stop (at this beg point, i totally forgot about the breaks), i didnt stop. i ended up going towards the sidewalk and i had missed the curb where it dips and meets with the asphalt on the street. yup. so i ended up going over the 3 inch drop on the curb and that shocked me so bad... -_-

-after biking from SJSU to SCU, we stopped at safeway. i needed some water and tissue. once i got of teh bike, it was soo hard to bend my knees that i ended up walking pretty funny (according to phil since he was laughing at me the whole way to the bathroom) and it took me forever to get to the back of safeway!!

But foreal., when i got back i had to shower again (i took one prior to the ride, not knowing they'd call me and ask if i wanted to go out for a ride tonight) and while in the shower (and for some reason, i think ALOT) i was just reflecting of how it was such a fantastic ride. that i didnt get hurt or injured during the ride and God and the men kept me safe on the streets. Thanks guys! i owe you one.
    --------------
So the guys had a great mind to bike from San Francisco to San Jose all in one day. and how many miles is that rachel? that is FRICKIN 57 MILES! dang i hardly handled 13! but if i really wanna do this, i gotta start going out on more rides and building up strength to bike that! pray for me -_-

  • Can you say Turkey?

oh wow its ALMOST thanksgiving time and i am sooo ready to go home! i think the last time i saw my parents was about a month ago! i miss them so much! so here are a couple of highlights that i can still remember (hahaha, right) from day 1 of college.

the week after my church retreat, i moved into my new apartment! omg im living the adult life! only without the job haha! its been such a blessing living in a household full of girls who are drawn towards God. they keep me on accountablility and are fun and loving. now that i look back at our 3 months of living here in our apt, we DEFINITELY accumilated hellla stuff! no joke.

so the other day, i was talking to a girl in my class and i wanted to know what ethnicity she was. but being me, what was said through my head was:
    "What ethnicity are you?"
but when it splurged out of my mouth, it became:
    "What brand are you?"
oh jeez. she was confused until i was like "i mean what brand is your scarf?" nice save, rachel. nice save.

i've had my pink phone for at least 2 years! crazy, but i love it to death even though the key pad is all janky and semi-broken. my dad has been encouraging me to check out new phones and such but none come to my appeal that its a better phone than my current one. im too attached to this cutie, i cant let it goo! grrr...

oh wow, i had too many projects ALL JAM PACKED in a frickin month. i had an essay due, then project, then another essay, then another project WOW..im soo tired. i cannot wait til break! and im in dire need of one too. sigh. i've been getting sleepless nights and morning tiredness...it sucks. DONT EVER PROCRASTINATE! it sucks buttt! hahah

oh swell. i cannot wait to see my parents! and my home friends! except for the fact that SOME PEOPLE arent coming back (you suck). ahah i have soo much to do this weekend: shopping, seeing friends, potlucks, dinners, you name it. all in 4 days (thurs to sunday) oh wow.

  • I hate my job..

My job is so ****ing unbelievable. I'll try to sum it up by first telling you about the folks I work with:

First, there is this supermodel wanna-be chick. Yeah, okay, she is pretty hot, but damn is she completely useless. The girl is constantly fixing her hair or putting on makeup. She is extremely self-centered and has never once considered the needs or wants of anyone but herself. She is as dumb as a box of rocks, and I still find it surprising that she has enough brain power to continue to breath.

The next chick is completely the opposite. She might even be one of the smartest people on the planet. Her career oppertunities are endless, and yet she is here with us. She is a zero on a scale of 1 to 10. I'm not sure she even showers, much less shaves her "womanly" parts. I think she might be a lesbian, because every time we drive by the hardware store, she moans like a cat in heat.

But the jewel of the crowd has got to be the ****ing stoner. And this guy is more than just your average pothead. In fact, he is baked before he comes to work, during work, and I'm sure after work. He probably hasn't been sober anytime in the last ten years, and he's only 22. He dresses like a beatnik throwback from the 1960's, and to make things worse, he brings his big ****ing dog to work. Every ****ing day I have to look at this huge Great Dane walk around half-stoned from the second-hand smoke. Hell, sometimes I even think it's trying to talk with its constant bellowing. Also, both of them are constantly hungry, requiring multiple stops to McDonalds and Burger King, every single ****ing day.

Anyway, I drive these ****tards around in my van and we solve mysteries.

something my friend made me read a week ago and fasho i cannot stop laughing! :]
And I'm sure you got a kick out of it too! Great stuff. thanks Greg Tang!

  • Birthday time!

oh wow! My birthday came and went in a blink of an eye! thank you to all who said happy birthday to me via facebook, text, email, calls, bday cards, you name it! what i really was in shock for was a couple of people paying me a visit to hand me my bday card and present in person! Just the thought of you driving to my house puts a smile on my face. one person ended running many stop signs just to catch me before i left the house for my dinner outing. (he was in sf for the weekend and was driving back home that night).  thank you so much!

I'm so greatful for having such great friends and family! I praise God for you. He has blessed me with so much!

i rocked the day out by being picked up and treated to breakfast by two church people. as we ate breakfast, we watched a tennis match...lol! Sunday school was very intruging. learned about stewardship this sunday. Rev came back from tour with the rest of the softball team. praise God for bringing them home safely! after, i chilled at home by taking a nap and went on a family dinner outing in JapanTown. went to my grandma's house and mom pulled out a birthday cake! she asked me earlier during the week what kind of cake i wanted. i was hoping for an ice cream cake but she told me it was too cold for it. bummer. What was funny, was my grandma was yackin something about red beans and my mochi i made during a family july 4th bbq. she loved it so much that she went to her fridge and pulled out a tubberware with a few pieces in it and she began to eat it while praising me of how great it tastes. hahah i love her so much. went to sleep with ease (was in bed by 10pm, can you say wow?!) had day camp the next morning so i couldnt afford to stay up. but still, i fell asleep like right away! haha.

Thanks again guys and gals for the lovely bday shout outs! love youuu!!

P.S. happy early 2nd anniversary (July 10) to my lovely scar on my left side! God pulled me though that difficulty and i praise His name for doing such great things for me!
